I'm installing new wires on my '73 L82. I got MSD Super Conductor wires, one of them was bad. At first, thought it must be the end I put on. Removed it, still read several K ohms. Then figured it was the end that MSD put on beforehand. Cut it off, wire still ohmed out bad!
I've got them all in but put one of the old Taylor wires on cylinder 8. These wires have different impedances: MSD 50 ohm per foot, Taylor 300 ohm per foot.
--Do I need to worry about having a higher ohm wire on one cylinder?
--Are 50 ohm per foot wires OK for a Gen 1 SBC?
I will get a replacement MSD wire but want to run the car sooner.

I'm surprised no one chimed in. I've read that solid core wires should be used on some ignition systems but you'll be fine with mixing any resistance wire.
