Default Sports Mirrors

I'm trying to identify the bullet mirrors that came with my C3 project. I'm not sure if they are the genuine Sports Mirrors that came with some 76+ Vettes, or some other type.

Could anyone who has the genuine sports mirrors fitted to their car, please advise what either (or both) of the dimensions are that I have marked in red on the attached photo?

I understand that the pedestal is taller on the genuine Sports Mirrors and this information will help with the identification. Thanks.

I have a 77 with factory original sport mirrors. Perhaps if you posted up a pic I could help. Not interested in downloading a file.

Looks like the C3 part numbers are 461065 left, 461066 right...

OK, I'll try to help now. First off the picture above does not look factory. Second, it's really had to measure with the mirror assembled and on the car. So, approximate measurements. Long side, 3 1/2 inches, short side, 2 1/8 inches. Factory sport mirror

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the sport mirrors didn't come out until the 77 model year.

Thanks 4-vettes, that's about the same dimensions as mine.
Interestingly, however, I have the cable adjustment on both the R & L side mirrors - my understanding was, only the driver's side had the cable on the Sports Mirrors..

On my 77, and all those I have seen. The adjuster is only on the drivers side. However, I can't comment on the later cars. As 81's and 82's maybe different. I have a friend with a 81 and another with a 82. I can ask if you like.
Also who knows what may have been available from the dealer over the counter back in the day.
What year car are you working on?

Just talked with my friend with the 81. Both his mirrors are electrically adjusted. So, not cable operated.

Thanks for that. Are your friends mirrors standard? I didn't realize there was an electric version for the C3s.

My Car is a 74 convertible. The bullet mirrors came with it along with a bunch of other spares and accessories. I like the idea of the bullet mirrors because I was constantly fiddling with the adjustment of the chrome ones on my previous car.

The mirrors on my friends car are original. Whether that was an option or Standard equipment I do not know.
I know that the sport mirrors on my 77 were indeed an option.
They are not original on a 74 no matter what. So run em if you wish. Can't see much out of them anyway.

Electric mirrors were an option in '81-'82 only...
