I an in the process of ordering engine parts for my 327 that is going to be rebuilt in May by me and a good friend who has lots of experience, including having built the 327 30 over in my Purple truck nearly 20 years ago (never have had any problems!). Anyway, I have a list from jebbysan of parts to order a d am in the process of getting them. However, as I went to order the Crower surelock rocker arm nuts, there is a choice between 7/16 and 3/8. I have a 68 327/350hp double hump heads with 2.02s. Some cites state it should have a 3/8 nut. Others say 7/16. Which should I get? I really don’t want to buy both and return the one that isn’t right. Call me lazy or cheap. Just want a one and done.
Most studs have 3/8"-24 thread at top --- while some have 7/16"-20 thread at top
Virtually all screw-in studs have 7/16"-14 thread at bottom
perhaps you're both lazy & cheap
go to hardware & buy Both: a cheap 3/8"-24 Nut & a cheap 7/16"-20 Nut---one of em should easily fit.
Then order the correct size polylocks.
