Power window repairs
Does anyone know of an Indianapolis, Indiana area company that can do quality work on the power windows for my 1981? It still works, but it's extremely clunky and makes a lot of noise, plus it rattles all the time. I have had it apart several times and can't determine what is rattling or what is causing the clunky operations.

Noise when you close the doors?
Usually a clunking sound is because the motor mount of the window regulator has broken welds. The motor is pretty heavy and every time the door is shut the weight of the motor stresses the welds. With the door panel and cover plate removed, it's pretty easy to see if the motor has movement in its mount. I removed the regulators on my '72 and had a local shop tig weld the brackets back into place.
