I have 1969 that on the passenger side the door switch does not turn off the courtesy lights when closed. If I unscrew the switch from the door jamb about a 1/4 inch it engages the switch and turns it off. The door gaps are fine. Before I replace the switch is there a way to adjust it at all? Thanks
Yes, these are self-adjusting plunger switches. Gently extend the tubular section outward from the hex nut. Don't pull on the plunger itself. If you can carefully remove the wiring from the switch (not easy) then you could push the tube outward while in a vise. Once it's extended, when the door shuts the tube is pushed inward the proper amount.
