81 ujoint bolt stripped
I'm replacing the 4 ujoints on the half shafts and 2 of the 12 point bolts stripped. I was able to remove the drive shaft since it was one bolt on the wheel side and one on the diff side. Tried a bolt extractor but it's for a 6 point and didn't work. Couldn't get a good bite. Anyone have any solid recommendations? Pound on a smaller socket? Doing on my back so not a ton of room to bang away. Thanks in advance.

x2 on buying new spicer straps & bolts.

Thanks for the advice. I got them out. I managed to wiggle the ujoints out of the dust caps and out of the yoke and remove the half shaft. That gave me more room to bang on a bolt remover which did the job. I was lucky as there was only one stripped bolt on each end of the shaft. Replacing all 4 ujoints on your back is a pita job though. Thanks again.
