No, the pin in the center divides the left and right side of the blade. Pull up on both the left and right side of the blade and pull off of the center pin. Not the front and back of the blade.
I think what you say should push down on the spring I'm pointing to but in my case it didn't work. I found a video that showed pushing down on the spring with a screwdriver and it released it. Thank you.
