Wilwood Brakes 6 Piston Direct Bolt on 65-82 Corvette Front Replacement Caliper Kit
Wilwood Brakes 6 Piston Direct Bolt on 65-82 Corvette Front Replacement Caliper Kit
The D8-6 caliper is a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory original calipers on all 1965-82 Corvette's. Forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons and competition style high-temperature seals put an end to the rust, bore pitting and seal failures that plague the OE caliper design. D8-4 calipers provide low-maintenance performance and a huge weight savings with high temperature reliability for the street and track. D8-6 calipers mount in the stock location over stock rotors, and use the original style OE D8 brake pads. Calipers can be used with any wheel that clears the OE calipers. The factory piston sizes were duplicated to maintain the original front to rear brake bias and use of the OE master cylinder. Kits contain DOT compliant stainless steel braided brake lines with BP-10 high friction pads.

Yes we do for the rear it is a 4 piston caliper available in Clear anodize, red or black powdercoat. As just like the front

I can put a package together for you with the 6 piston in front the 4 piston in rear with the ProMatrix Front and Rear Rotor Kits offer measurable brake performance improvements to racers and enthusiasts using the OE factory brake calipers and High performance pad compounds. One piece rotors are used to provide high temperature durability for the track or high-tech style with corrosion resistance for the street.

If you would PM me your color choice i will work you up a complete package
Thanks

OK
D8 is caliper style and yes 4 is 4 piston and 6 is 6 piston. Both bolt to the stock mounting hardware and location. They are direct replacement for the stock calipers. 6 piston calipers are not just for racing can and are used on the street. The difference is of course 4 pistons of larger diameter pushing on the brake pads vs 6 pistons of slightly smaller piston diameter pushing on the pads. Now with the 6 piston you have more of an even force applied against the pads so more of the pads is in contact with the rotor and even forces are applied and better , shorter stopping distances occur. The 4 piston applies force to the pads from the end of the pads so the forces are out on the ends and the center of the pad does not have the same force applied as the ends so slighty less contact in the center of the pads. Still very good stopping capabilities out of either caliper. Now if you are tracking your car then i highly recommend the 6 piston calipers. If you have made numerous motor mods or increased the HP of your car then i would recommend the 6 piston (it has always made me wonder everyone is so worried about getting from 0-60 or faster but never seem to worry about getting from 60-0).
