Comes down to spline count , this is 31 spine and the carrier and gears work in several GM and Jeep products

I have a Stock 1981 Auto with 2.87:1 gears now in a Danna 44, will the 3.73 gears "drop in" to my current setup?

Yes , the break off point is 3.73 any ration lower then 3.73 requires a carrier change .

bump.. If you have an auto o/d this is about the lowest gears you should use... And they are in perfect shape the rear end was new when last owner restored the car before I bought it.. I went to 3.92 rears so I had to replace the carrier ... Leaving me this nice set up for someone else at a very cheap price if I can say so myself
