Default Free 11" clutch with 8 K miles

Hi all

I have a nice used HD Valeo 11" clutch that came out of my 80 Vette project car. It has about 8 K miles on it and worked very smooth. I was going to sell it, but will give it to any CF member free, but you have to pay UPS Ground and for the packing materials. My car has the 168 tooth flywheel.

I ship my motorcycle parts I produce every day so having UPS pick it up is not a problem.

I thought this would be a nice thing to do for the Holidays for anyone that is strapped for cash on the forum.

If you want it call me at my shop 775-463-5394 M-TH soon !

Cheers Dale Walker in NV.

Default Richmond 6 speed

This is how bad the casting was of the shift cams in this brand new 6 speed

Pure garbage IMO !

Other photo after polishing, we did the the same with the plungers on the Sharp edges, chamfering and de burr.

This along with leaving out a snap on the input shaft was the problem. -

If you ever pull a Richmond 5 or 6 speed apart , do this mod !

This is a New Old Stock transmission I bought from a private owner, that was never installed > so zero warranty.

I called Richmond yesterday just to vent a bit to a tech, and was as nice as I could be. He did not like what I had to say or what I found inside this trans, also could not believe the snap ring was missing next to bearing 307 on the input shaft.

Basically they did not care less, and would not do a thing for me even with receipts, but hey at least it made me feel a little better.

I took the car out for another 20 mile loop yesterday and it shifts fine though a bit stiff which is normal. Im going for one more test ride, them Im going to dump the Brad Penn and put Redline MT-90 in it.

It will be down a few weeks since I need to start on my steering update and drop the oil pan to replace the gasket that's weeping in the front.

Cheers Dale

I think you are giving Alan a run for his money as a "clean enough to eat off of" award. IMO

Very nice ride.

I got a kick out of the transmission story. Din't you notice the sign in the customer service department; "The customer is always wrong. Even if he isn't wrong, he's probably lying". Gotta love suppliers like that.

Hi SD ........ No kidding, If I made parts like this I would have had to close the doors 20 years ago, by being on the wall of shame.

Its to bad they just did not go a little extra mile on the QC or details of these trans. Its a very good and strong tranny, but I went through was total BS to make it work.

I posted up here when all this started nearly a year ago, and most blamed it on the bell housing, clutch or shift linkage out of adjustment. I did screw up on the first throw out bearing. But after that it still had the same problems.

Im doing the new steering box conversion right now, so after thats done I can test drive it again with the Redline MT-90 I just put in it.

Cheers Dale
