Default 1972 LT1 Engine

New project. Picked up a 72 LT1 this weekend, vin 1Z37L2S518182. Currently has a 454 engine in it. The car has issues, but thinking about building it as close to what it was. Never paid much attention to LT1 parts, don’t know how realistic a restore will be. Could be fun.

Thought I would look for an engine first. If you have one or know of one around, please let me know. Also if you have experience in bringing one back, would love to talk. In no hurry, my other cars have plenty of work to be done.

Thanks
Jim

Thanks, hoping to find a 72 complete, but I have your info if I go a different route.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,

also note 72 uses the 5 quart oil pan
1970 has the bigger 6 quart oil pan

heads different part number
i may know someone has extra heads if you want to start collecting

other 72 and dated part numbers like
intake part
Dated carb
dated water pump
valve covers are push in oil cap
and I think also has 3 inch runners on the intake side
A few other little things
hope this helps

Default LT-1 Engine

Still looking. Would like a complete 1972 LT-1 engine and components. I have had a few nice offers for other years, but I still would like a 1972.
Thanks,
Jim

Members, just a reminder. I had to remove posts from 4 different members fort offering parts with no prices. Asking prices are required on all parts offers unless you are a Supporting Vendor.
