Default Attaching Door Panels on a 1973

I bought my first Corvette a couple of months ago. While working through the problems with the electric window - which work now. I am having a real problem getting those plastic fasteners to stay fastened. Any tricks any one has come across in getting the door panel to stay fastened on?

The orig door panels are made of cardboard so they warp over time, I had the same problem when I bought mine. I ended up putting a screw through them and into the metal door frame, the screw matched the screw that is visable at the top of the door so it didn't look too out of place. I tightened the screw dow over a couple week time period during a humid time of summer so the panel would not crack and split. I drove it like that for about 2 years until I redid the whole interior and replaced them.

You might try replacing the velcro like plastic pieces like mentioned above ans taking a clamp and clamping the panel tight during a humid time (with the batt disconnected of course) for a few days.

BTW The replacement panels I bought are made of plastic so there is less chance of warpage.
