Oil Leak
I think that the hose was not seated properly on the manifold for my oil preasure gauge because it is leaking from the gromet on the manifold. How should this be attached correctly ?
Stock '73? Oil pressure is taken from a fitting on the side of the engine block. Big block cars have a piece of metal tube that runs up to the vicinity of the valve covers and mates with plastic tubing that goes through firewall to the back of the guage. Small block cars may dispense with the metal tubing... not sure there.
No oil pressure fittings on the intake manifold... But just in case I misunderstood you, the tubing is crimped on when you tighten the nut by means of a compression fitting and conical sleeve that sildes over the tube inside the fitting. If this is what you mean and it leaks, just get a new tube kit from a vendor and start over with new parts....

Yes, my mistake, it is on the block, close to the distributor. I didn't know if it would work to unscrew the nut & try to reseat the plasic hose or if I would be better off in just getting another nut/compression fitting.

compression fittings usually only work once for me....you could try taking it apart but do not be surprised if it still leaks...these are not expensive fittings i'd repalce it and do the labor once....
