Well Johnny Carson is gone. He said his favorite Corvette was the C4 and the shark vettes were his second favorite. Johnny last month walked in a Chevy dealership to check out a new 2005 C6 Vette. He asked the salesman how much?? The guy said 53k. Johnny said your crazy I will buy a C4 and a shark and still have money left over. No way.
Gotta Love Johnny a true class act...
I have missed Johnny's monologues since he retired. Really enjoyed all the "Carnac" spoofs, and the wise cracks he would usually have when it was time for the last envelope. I didn't know he was into cars, Jay Leno sure is.
The newsclips from around the time of his retirement show him getting into a white C4, assume a '92 since that is when he retired.
tom...
There was a white vette of Johnny's sold at Barrett-Jackson's last year, Dec 2003. It was a plain jane car. Although it was clean, his name did not do anything for the selling price of the car. "The 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, formerly owned by Johnny Carson, is finished in white and has 54,000 original miles. "

yeah, i saw that episode and i was surprised too. i think it only sold for about 16 or 18k. thought his name on it would have brought more. guess if your a plain jane C4 "star appeal" doesn't take you very far.

Bet if it was auctioned this weekend it would go for double that, morbid but true.
