The engine compartment photos, although they look awful, don't necessarily reveal anything too terribly bad. I did notice that the chrome distributor and ignition shielding was missing.
If the frame is rotten, this is a big serious downer. This means you're looking at a few thousand and a frame off. If there's a rust problem, what about the front crossmember and the differential crossmember.
What about the rear suspension axle hubs, trailing arms, etc. How rusty are they.
..And the previous comment about the non-stock hood. This is another bad sign.
The mileage is 48,000 miles. As the ad said, maybe 148,000. Actually for this car you should just assume the speedo odometer has failed and you don't know what the mileage is. You'll just have to assume its not relevent. At this stage, we're looking at replacing just about every thing anyhow so the actual mileage may not be important.
At this juncture, I think a big swinger is the interior. What does it look like?? If for some bizarre reason, it's still OK this car could still have some possibilities for a rebuild. Otherwise, I think the question is how much do you want to bid for a 1969 Corvette BB VIN and associated salvageable parts.
