79 console is it flat or shiney?

79 console is it flat or shiney?
I decided to replace my shiney console on my 79. I ordered a new one from Corvette america. When it arrived it is not shiney. My guage bezel is shiney but the ash tray door was a scratched up flat black. Naturally I repainted it to be shiney while I was waiting on the new console to arrive. Now I am concerned the new console is going to look strange with a shiney ash tray door and guage bezel.
Which is correct?

I just had my 79 console and ashtray re-dyed by a local custom car company and it turned out great. The instrument panel is shiny as yours and looks fine. But I would suggest you have the ash tray portion of console dyed flat black as I think it would be noticeable.

My original was shiney where it was worn, but flat everywhere else. The new bezels I purchased (gauge & shift) are both from different vendors, and both flat. I used a rattle can of flat black Krylon for my ash tray door. The whole set-up looks great, except for where I got a little crazy with the Dremel and scratched the bezel above the radio.
