I'm in Starksboro. I've seen some of you out there in your Sharks. Certainly not recently. Want to get together and share info and stories? Mine's a '75 L-48, Black with silver interior. P/S and air--currently in-op as the compressor clutch gave up the ghost(is the clutch replaceable or do Ineed to get a new compressor?).
I've put Recaro seats in it. Added a 10 disc changer. Rebuilt the front and rear suspensions. Edelbrock intake with K&N filter. Headers and high flow cats with dual exhaust all the way back. I've also removed the spare and its carrier to reduce weight.
Have yet to do an autocross with but may take it out on the Lake for some Ice Time Trials!!!!!
Next will be a carb rebuild and new tires. What's a good performance 15" tire. Can't afford to move up to 17's.
We own Homestead Campground in Georgia, VT. We would love to have other Vette owners come meet up, lots of room here.
'79 L-82, almost new to us, work in progress.
we are always looking for a new place to camp, we take off EVERY weekend in the summer to camp, usually in New England. Do you have a web site or any info you can send?
My Vette is also a work in progress.
68 L-79 vert.
Body off
VB&P max performance suspension
Rebuillt diff with 3.70
Plus many, many other parts
The body still needs to be done
I would love to try and hook up with some fellow vette people in the area.
Thanks for the input about the Pirellis. Ive got the Firestones now and they are horrible in the wet. Yes, I drive it as much as possible, including in the rain. If I waited for good weather, Ild never drive it up here!!
Is Homestead Campground the one across Rte 7 from the Georgia Farm House mini golf, creemee stand and go-karts? We could/should get together there as soon as possible--Maybe just a meet and great. Show off pix of our cars, and get some food!
We would love to host local get togethers there. We have a nice grass field right along the road and we have a recreation hall where we could get out of the weather if it is bad. Let me know it anyone wants to hook up.
I guess we could expand upon our campground motto "A bad day camping is still better than a good day at work." and make it:
"A bad day in a vette is still better than a good day at work".
Hi all, We would love to host a picknick of some sort at the campground. My wife, it is really her car, suggested fathers day weekend. If this isn't good are there any other suggestions?
Does anybody know if there is a local Vette club that we could contact? Or maybe start our own?
I live over on the other side of the Connecticut (river that is) and would be interested in such a gathering. Frankly, I'm not exactly sure where you are located Are you closer to Burlington or Bennington?????
It just occured to me that we have a couple of seasonal campers who stay with us that have Vettes also. I'm sure that they would like to get in on the fun.
A GTG sounds good and I think the campground is the perfect place for it. Father's day weekend sounds good to me. We could do a pot-luck lunch or maybe a BBQ??
I'm also interested in a drive over the Gap on Rte. 17 sometime this summer. My girlfriend and I picniced off the back of my Vette and watched the sun set from the pulloff at the top. Even got to see some moose in the pond below.
If you haven't driven 17 you owe it to yourself to check it out.
Finally, I'm also a member of the Sports CAr Club Of Vermont. We autocross once every month from spring to fall at VTC in Randolph. Normally I use my prepped Scirocco, but I'm itchin to see how the Vette would do. Any one got any advice on set-up?
