I am searching for my first Vette, and I am having difficulty trying to find insurance that fits my needs.
im not looking into buying a show car,but a very nice driver. I want insurance coverage that will allow me to drive the car whenever and to wherever i like(not as a daily but frequently) and also not use "depreciated cash value". anyone know of an insurance company that will do "agreed value" and not limit me wanting to take the car to work,or out to dinner,or a couple hours to the beach?
basically want to bridge the gap between classic car insurance and standard insurance on a daily driver. it doesnt matter to me if i have to pay $500 plus a year as long as i can get my money back if car is damaged/stolen.(i have a perfect driving record and 32 years of age fyi)
thanks! Dave
I have insurance on my 69 with Hagerty http://www.hagerty.com/
I would give them a call and see if they offer what you want. They are great folks to deal with. Good Luck

State Farm does not have restrictions like Hagerty - they do however require an appraisal for the car/value.
I've chosen Hagerty because they're a lot cheaper ($200/year), when I talked to the State farm agent he told me it would be around $600/year with a classic car rebate and $10000 agreed value.
thanks for the replies. Hagerty seems to only cover for pleasure drives(isnt any time you drive a vette pleasure? lol)
I want to have no driving restrictions at all on the when and where i drive it. I will call state farm and see what they have. I worry with the restrictions that I will break a rule(drive it to work etc.) and get in a wreck which wont be covered,or stolen from where it shouldnt be.
thanks for the help! Dave
I'm with American family and pay $220 a year, with no limit on mileage, and comprehensice coverage with an agreed on value of $10,000. They simply asked me what I though market value for the car would be, I told them, and they agreed. It was easy.
I've got State Farm and it cost me $30 a month for full coverage with a value of $10000 (they asked me how much to insure for). I can drive it anywhere anytime, it is a little cheaper because I have multi car and house insurance with them as well.
State Farm is the way to go if you want to drive it like a regular car.
FYI : I just got off the phone with my State Farm agent (of 22yrs.) about coverage on my Vette. He recommended Hagerty. He has Hagerty on his 70 SS Chevelle!! Go figure ???
