Im looking to build a roll bar for my 72 convertible, and like the loop style that I can hook seat belts to, does anyone have a link of where to get them or information on building them?? Thanks, Remy
as far as I know I am the only person on the forum to build a real, though admittedly not sanction hoop type roll bar. It did necessitate 'massaging' the deck lid, but I like how it turned out.
I did all the work myself. It wasn't easy or cheap, but I couldn't find anyone I trusted to do the work well. There are a few other folks who were reluctant to cut their deck lid, but that really cuts into the leg room and puts the bar uncomfortably close to the drivers head.
Excellent job 71 Roadster! Would you have a better view of the attachment points? I have been considering a similar approach for my 69 coupe that won't destroy the interior. Racing and low 12's are not in my future. The shoulder restraint mounts or the birdcage seem to offer the only solid mounting points, but a pic would speak volumes. How did you go about getting the hoops bend?
That is real nice, and I think that 69MYWAY is on this site as well, and he has done something like what you have, Im not sure about his decklid being redone, but he has the same thing on KILLER. Great job on that!! I would like to see the mounting points as well. thanks, Remy
BORDERBUM72 are you trying to put shoulder belts in your car or move your current shoulder belts to a roll bar? My vert didn't have the shoulder belt option , but I found the parts needed to convert my seats to the pass thru option , so I now have factory looking belts.
