Default Finally got to drive it!!!!!

Some of you may know that I bought a '69 Vert at the end of December. It was delivered about 3 weeks ago with a tank full of rust so it didn't run well at all. Well this weekend it got a complete new fuel system including a new tank, sending unit, all rubber lines, filter, and a Holley 110 fuel pump. It started right up and purred like a kitten. After saying a few prayer not to be left on the side of the road I went for a test drive. Car drives great!!! It handles pretty nice for 36 year old suspension. It feels a little down on power and pulls kinds sluggish up top but it just may need some carb and ignition tweaking. All and all it's pretty slow compared to my 2 other cars but hey that not want I bought it for. First stop was the gas station down the street and it already gathered a bunch of Harley guys and gals out for a Sunday ride. That's what I bought it for.

Now it looks like it's going to rain all week.

Gald you got it running bud and sorry I couldn't turn the wrenches with ya. ....but you saw was I was involved in . I'm sure I will put in alot of work on it down the road...heheh.

congrats on your first real drive..you guys looked like you were having fun yesterday. Can't wait to be on the road with ya'll.

those Hooker mufflers in the side pipes could be hurting the power on it....take those things out and go for loud

I felt the same way after getting the new motor in & four speed conversion done to my '75 last year. It was non-running almost a year too.

Cool. The rust thing does bite. I just replaced my tank for this very reason last summer. Glad to hear you are able to enjoy it.

Yeah I'm gonna leave them out when I send the headers to Jet-Hot and if it's too loud then I'll put those baffels in, but those things are expensive.

Hey Mike. Yes I'm very pleased with the car. The fuel system was a set back but was't that expensive and wasn't too hard to change out either. Now that's one thing that I won't have to worry about. Gotta get those headers and sidepipe Jet-Hot coated now!!!

Thanks again for all of your help.

Right on...glad to hear you finally got it out

The '69 I'm buying has the STS sidepipe baffles and they sound awesome...if it didn't already have them I would have been buying them.
