I certainly don't like the car but a 460 motor is a great motor and has more desireable dimensions then our 454.
I've had numerous 460s over the years and they have always been a good engine. Great power and reliable. I think it's one of the best engines Ford ever made. I'm not sure if it belongs in a C3 though.

It doesn't belong in a C3 but it is a good motor in a ford. I often regret not putting one in the mustang.
Call me crazy, but it doesn't bother me. It's his car, the tough part would be if you lost to him at the track, and showed you that the heart of his car was a Ford. Now that'd be a bummer.

Ford makes some good products too. I like fords as well as chevy and dodge. They all have their good points.
hey, to each his own. i think hot rod had a 427 side oiler in a c-3, in its pages once. they called it best of both worlds? the dude had lemons, so he made lemonade. i applaud him for being different at least. any one can ride in a safe, stock ride. id party with em'
These postings makes me a little aprehenscious about what I planned to do with my 1970 Corvette BB. I've planning upon removing the all cast iron 454 and replacing it with a Keith Black aluminum BB. This is Keith Black's version of the GM big block. I've already bought the Keith Black block and the Brodix heads. It never occured to me, before reading this forum, that doing this replacement might not be acceptable to a lot of Corvette folks.
Also, I now realize that I may have been a little naive about ordering a Keith Black BB to fit in my Corvette. ( I bought the Keith Black years ago.) Now, I'm going to soon check deck heights and some other dimensions to make sure it will fit. I know I will most likely have to get the hydroboost power brake option to clear the valve covers. Also, just from some initial observations, the Keith Black aluminum BB looks very, very strong. I also bought, years ago, a Keith Black billet 454 crank. In today's world, it looks like I should be looking at a lot more displacement. It's hard to do all of this right the first time!!!
