Does just the Corvette have the distributor tach drive, or did other G M cars have them.

Summit only shows them for "racecars" or Corvettes. There might be others...

Edit: Looks like Camaros had 'em too...

I was looking at some websites and found a photo of a
1956 Chrysler/Desoto mechanical tach drive distributor.

http://www.dacoglu.com/Tach.htm

I also found some other cars that used a mechanical tach drive such as the Porsche 914

Vehicle/Engine Specs:
Make: Porsche Model: 914
Engine Type: 2.0L Transmission: 5sp
Modifications: Bored 2mm, stroked 7mm, dual 44mm Webers, Moderate cam and opened heads.
Discussion Topics: distributors

Solution:
45 series has centrifical advance only. 47 series has centrifical and vacuum advance. 46 series is the same as 45 series but with a mechanical tachometer drive for use with cable driven tachometers. Use the 46 series only if you have a cable driven tach.

I think that that distributor was used on some marine, industrial, or truck engines. Or all of the above

The tach drive distributors for Camaros were an over the counter item. They were listed in the early Chevrolet Power manuals along with the Cross Ram intakes, Kustom headers, etc Part # was 1111267
