My 82CE is untouched and unmolested so would it have a build sheet and if so were there other places besides the top of the gastank?Or could it be that mine doesn't have one?I haven't looked.
I've heard some stories about duplicate build sheets below drivers seaet or behind the dash, between the speedo and tacho. But I don't know which years might have those duplicate build sheets... I remember hearing these stories from this very same forum, so hopefully somebody will come out and tell more facts...

Finnshark has it right plus owners of low mileage original cars will find them in rear suspension...like the strut brackets. If no luck there, for your 82 you can order from the National Corvette Museum for I believe $30.00!
There are no build sheets available from GM or NCM before production was in Bowling Green. I was abel to get most of my build sheet without dropping the tank. I was able to remove the gas filler hardware and work from top and bottom with a parts grabber and my fingers to work it out. As some of it came out in pieces, I was abvel to piece it back together once out. I immediately copied it in various mags and intensitiies. Be very careful with it as the ink tends to rub off very easily after years of abuse. The best part on mine was finding out the dealer it dleivered to. I have since obtained the shipping paperwork from GM.
Thanks for the info.I will check the tank using the procedure explained.Sounds simple enough.I do have the orginal Window sticker and it was sold out of Dial Chevy,in Westbury Ny.Sticker price $24,179.50
