Did anyone see the 1969 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE LOT #1251 - NO RESERVE that sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction… I have the identical car (same engine, etc.) completely original and it's equipped with a smog pump and hoses to the exhaust manifolds.
These items are missing from the photo of the engine compartment for the car that was sold and I thought that Corvette was rebuilt to original specs,
Are you talking about the blue/blue, 4sp, 300 HP convert? As I remember it sold for $38M! They described it as a nice driver! Luckily my wife was sitting next to me when it sold. So now she dosen't think I,m so crazy when I spend money 'restoring' mine. I have a 69 convert/hardtop, L46, 4sp, AC, PW, PS, PB, tilt/tele. Maybe I will detail it and take it to BJ and look for $50M! Ha, ha
38 Million Dollars!!!! WOW.......................or did you mean 38K???
You must mean "K". Watch out how you throw those M's around. Most of the people on this Forum don't have that kind of money. Go talk to the C6 section.
Let the buyer try to sale it. I don't think he will get anywhere close to what he paid. I can't explain the prices, but I know that driver quailty 69 verts with 300hp are not worth $38k. Am I wrong? $38K? I'm thinking 70 LT-1 vert or maybe a BB.
