Default balljoint problem

Is there a way to find out if you have a bad balljoint.
when I have the steering wheel turn all the way to the
left or right, the pass side tire act's like I have it on 4X4
mode, and kinda like jolts, does this make sence.

If anyone owns a 4X4 and had it engaged on dry pavement
trying to make a tight turn, then you know what I mean by
jolt

Megladon,

Jack the car up to get the weight off the front end. Using a lever (2x4 or some form of pry bar) pry the bottom of the wheel upward. If you feel any substantial movement you've got a bad ball joint. The bottom ones are usually the first to go.

from under the car to see if the lower or upper moves?

I believe the wear limits are 1/16 of an inch and this really seems a lot when viewing the ball joint.
I do it too by taking all weight off the wheel that I am checking and pry it up and down while watching the ball joint but even joints within specs can still move alot.
I read a long time ago in the vet workshop manual that there is a measurement for the grease fitting down but can't remember what the reading was.
Use the pry method.
