sorry if i missed your reply. in another thread, i saw your burnout, and asked if you still had IRS under that thing. if not, what changes have been made? if you still have it, do you have any upgrades? thanks. jack

He still has IRS with an Eaton unit, but he is changing it out with the new motor/tranny to a Tom's unit IRS I believe.
I spoke to him tonight, and he is making progress.

I ran a stock IRS so far and already broke a few differentials.. Surprisingly the axles held up so far..
Right now I'm waiting for Tom's 12-bolt IRS setup... Which should be strong enough for 9's at the track... However, it's kinda pricey..

Marc, I actually ran a Auburn and not a Eaton unit. The Eaton lasted less than 20 passes at the track and the Auburn lasted about 35 - 40 passes...

A spol will wear down the axle bearings if you drive more than a couple 100 miles on the street... The stress on the bearings is very high in turns, and on longer trips, that is very bad for the bearings and also axles...
