Default Switched Hot lead

On the 78/79, does anyone know where is the best place to pick up switched "hot" power in the engine compartment. I'm putting my wiring harness back to a reasonable condition before the motor goes in. Want to tap onto a key switched wire to run a separate lead to a add-on fuse panel for the MSD, electric fans, and electric waterpump.

on my 77 i went through the hole on the side of the fire wall that the speedo cable goes through and tapped right into my fuse box....it really was quite easy....i then wrapped the wire in a 1/4" wire loom and put it with the headlight vacuum tubes...it looks great.

stick a meter or a light tester in to the fuse panel, to find a switched source, although its probably marked. this is best way to do add ons. there are however many switched 12v sources under your hood, but they are already in use. its not to wise to tap into them, especially with the fans! they will pull big amps.

There is at least one switch and one non-switch blade terminals on the fuse block, I used one for my fans.

I have my engine wiring harness on the bench right now. If anyone happened to know which color wires are "switched" I could solder an extra lead (for the fuse panel I'll add in the engine bay) while the harness is all apart.
