Default small block starter date code help

Can someone help me decipher the date code on this starter?
The code is 1107293 followed by 9B7.
Also stamped on the housing are the words "Delco-Remy USA"
Many thanks to anyone that can help or direct me somewhere to find out.

The 9B7 should be February 7, 1969.

9 is the year "9". B is the month, February (A=Jan., B=Feb. and so on) and 7 is the day.

SO....Feb. 7 of the year "9". Could be 59,69, 79, 89?. I don't have access to the part number, but that will tell you the year of application. Chuck

Pretty close. Months are represented A-M but they skip "I" because it looks too much like a 1.

As for the year, You would not have to worry about being a decade off as the part number proceeding the date code changes

Hope this helps

I checked the Vette Vues 68-72 book and they don't show this part number for a Vette. All Vette starters part number started with 1108....

I guess it is another original Chevy application from 69.

The only 1107 numbers I'm seeing for the 68-82 were the 1968 1107365 (427ci exc L-88) & the 1969 1107365 (early 427 usage unverified)

The "Chevrolet by the numbers" book will have this info...there is one that goes up to 1969 and one that is 1970-74. The one I have is 70-74 so I can't help you with your number.

1107293 is a starter for a 1968 and 1969 Pontiac V 8 motor according to Motor's Auto Repair manual 1971 edition #34
Looks like yours is from 1969 according to your date code.
