Just removed the old carpet from my 1980 and with it went the rattty old underlay material. It looked like the original heavy felt type material that is used over the wheel wells and on the floor in the cargo area.. Is this available as replacement or is there something better. As for an underlay for the rest of the carpet what is everybody using ? Thanx Brent
I'm using Fatmat for sound deadener first, and then Frost King duct insulation available from Home Depot...I learned about both here...there are anumber of threads...
So has anyone ever tried or researched pros / cons of spraying rhino liner in the floorboards and then covering with a heat insulation and carpet on top of that? For some reason that combo sounds like it would really help with interior volume.
I am thinking of painting my metal floor boards under the seats with Por-15 prior to any underlay type of material. Has anyone ever done this ? Good idea - Bad Idea. As far as underlay is there anything that is not bulky yet cures both heat and noise ? Thanx Brent
I will be using Frost-King self adhering 1/8" foam with aluminum
backing. There was a post recently ... but search is gone.
POR15 on the pans before sticking down should be fine.
Snail in a fast car .... big "S" painted on the roof .... "Look at that S-car go".
