I got the engine and tranny off the frame last night. If you want to follow along with the work I'm doing on this frame off resto of a 1977 here it is:
Sorry I kind of stepped off the planet for a few days. As you might have seen from my blog, the friend I bought this from just found out he has terminal cancer. He asked to see me and my wife late Satruday and so we spent the past 2 days driving out to see him and back (about 28 hours total drive time). It was good to see him one more time.....
Anyway, my plans are to keep it stock.....with one exception. I have a 2nd motor, and '81 350, that Jim threw into the deal. His plan was to pull the original motor and store it, take the 2nd motor and beef it up to 350-375 hp to make it fun to drive and have it perform like a Corvette should. So, that's my plan as well. I'll be asking more questions about the motor in a few weeks.
And what are the odds of another Steve with a '77 silver/blue Vette? I just hope you're not plagued by my sense of perfection on this kind of stuff. Very nerve wracking! You've got to send me some pictures. I've found only a couple of silver/blue Vettes to see how this will come out and I need to live vicariously to keep me motivated!
Nice website! Keep the faith, there's light at the end of the tunnel. After many hours and $$'s the results will be worth it. I've been working on mine for more years than I like to think about (or admit) but I'm nearly finished. (site needs updated badly).
