Default Wiring Question 1979

Where do you connect the red automatic choke (hot wire). Any help is appreciated

You are probably not getting any replies because the 1979 did not have an electric choke. It drew heat from a tube inserted in the intake manifold. Do you have an idea of what carb/choke setup you have?

Paul your correct on manifold heat tubes. I have a edlebrock with electric choke. Any ideas? Someone had a thread on this a few years back. thanks in advance

You need an ignition-switched 12V source. Mine is connected to the ballast resistor but unfortunately you do not have one. Other members have posted in the past re drawing fron the starter, alternator or windshield wiper circuits but I can't recall the details. Hopefully someone will jump in.

It wasn't the wiper switch itself but a terminal on the wiper motor that is 12V hot when the ignition is on. That will save threading the wire through the firewall to the dashboard switch.
