Just installed F-41 front coil springs in my 78 vette S.A. Before I torque
everything down I justed wanted to be sure of the correct location of the
spring in the lower control arm. I'm leaving the drain hole closest to the
the outside of the car, exposed. The end of the lower coil is about 1" from
the small indent in the LCA, leaving the drain hole completely exposed. The
inside drain hole is completely cover by the coil. Is this the correct
positioning? Any info appreciated!
Thanks,
A. Sclafani
no the spring has to go all the way into the POCKET or the indention in the lca. it will most likely go there itself as you compress it to install it. the little holes in your lca have nothing to do with position.

You need to worry more about location in the upper spring pocket than in the bottom.
In the upper pocket there is one or two holes, I don't remember. If two, then the spring should cover one, and not the other. If there is just one then end of the coil should be right next to it. I find if you shine a light from above downwards it's easier to see the holes.
If you don't have the upper part in the pocket right you could raise the car's height by 1 or 2 inches.

Have to locate the spring in the pocket of the lower control arm.
