I was just at the Koni site looking for a part number and the adjustment instructions caught my eye...Koni says to place the bottom in a vice, compress and turn the top clockwise to stiffen....I have been putting the top in the vice at a 90* angle (toward me) and turning the bottom to the right to stiffen....something tells me I have been doing it backwards........
...redvetracr :o
It doesn't matter if you put the bottom in the vise or the top (I assume you're talking about the rears, the fronts can only be done w/ the bottom in the vise as you have to insert an allen head socket into the piston stem to turn it)
Clockwise turning of the piston rod/stem is the same as turning the bottom right (also clockwise) like you did....don't see what you did wrong.
If you compress the shock and start turnign you can positively feel all the settings.
The piston has tangs or cams that will engage a foot valve when the shock is compressed fully.
ph, clockwise = stiffer, anti = softer. There are about 5 pos from softest to stiffest.

these are single adjustables...there is NO allen socket at the top. I believe I have been adjusting the shocks backwards, there is also no 5 position, the shocks have two (or 2-1/2) full turns of adjustment....Koni tells you to put the bottom in the vice, compress and turn the top to the right to stiffen, I have been putting the tops in the vice and turning the bottom to the right.....redvetracr
Think about it for a minute, turning the top right with the bottom in the vice and turning the bottom right with the top in the vice is exactly the same, just like a nut on a bolt, turn the bolt right, tightens, turning the whole deal around and turnng the nut right tightens also...righty tighty lefty loosy
