i am not sure what you would call this, but there is a lip, or hump directly behind the seats, i'ts like a divider, is this made of fiberglass, or steel, can it be removed? i want to place my new box in the back, but because this divider is there i can fit it in, the only way is to drasticly shorten it or remove this divider to install it. i want the speakers to face the front of the car, not crazy about them facing upward there 12 inch woofers because of this barrier.. the box in there now with these 12's are only 7inches wide
Been playing bass guitar since the 6th grade and am now 40 and still playing..bass is omni-directional. It don't matter where you put it... up, down, on the side..you are going to hear it and hopefully feel it. My bass stack I regularly use to play for various occasions are 2 - 18'' JBL's. My practice amp I use is a 16'' JBL. I can point either cabinet anywhere and you going to hear it and feel it..if it is up over master volume level of 4 and channel level of 4. Anyhow..2 12'' inch woofers in such a small cabin..regardless of orientation is actually overkill in this application. You are going to shake the crap outta the vette with this cabinet. Put them in...you will be happy. You could always notch out the cabinet..as long as the seats in there most rearward setting don't hit your box. Joe!

thanks guys, i guess i'll just slide it in there, the speakers will be facing upward, there will be no clearence problems that way. let me ask this, how much clearence should be the minumun from the speaker to the top deck? i'll need to put some dynomat up there..
