confession about my new C5...
i have had my C5 almost a week now and have a few hundred miles on her...
yup! shes an awesome car...
a technological marvel if i do say so myself...
fast as hell and just awesome to drive...
well then, whats to confess??? you ask...
right now she has traded places with my 79 and is covered up in my shop...
i couldnt live without her...
i found that even tho the car is truely amazing...i missed the C3...
when i pulled the 79 out of the shop today it was like true love all over again...
now, dont get me wrong...i will keep her as a second car...
and i do realize now, more than ever, that they are both awesome but they two completely different animals...
i quess i am just an old school hot rodder and love that roar of the sidepipes and banging gears...
bottom line...
even tho the C5 is a great car...i just love the hell out of my 79 and i am SO glad that i didnt sell her to buy the 2000, for i would have been singing the blues right now, big time...

That's very cool to hear as most people in my local club have "upgraded" from C3's & C4's leaving me and my beloved C3 out in the wind

While I would love to have a C5, I could never trade my C3 for it.
Glad you decided to keep the '79.

2) When having forgot where I parked, I don't like trying my key in a dozen Electron Blue C5's everytime I leave the mall .
3) I miss having people ask "What year is it?".
4) Kids don't point anymore.
5) Danny Ocean's prediction came true "C5's...the C4's of tomorrow"!

ya but your car will always look 10 times better than any of theirs now..
I'm with you guys never sell your c3's for a c5 you will regret it later the c5 is more of a daily driver just CAR I like having a low profile hard to get in and out of vette that makes you will like ur in a jet when you're sitting back like the c3 and my 95 does..
and I know a lot of you feel the same way about say my 95 as you would c5s but really having owned both the c4 gives off a lot more of the vette feel and features than my c5 ever did.

I keep telling her we can be a 2 vette family. You guys just make it more believable ...
And if you have a collector's insurance policy on your '82, it's not costing much to keep that car. And it's increasing in value
I have had similar observations with motorcycles and cars. My 02 softail is great but it cannot match the boot in the AZZ feeling I get from my AMF sportster. My buddies made a big deal about lending me their late model mustangs. They were smooth pwoerful and handled well but something was missing. The old 79 vette provides more sensory stimulation than the new refined cars. You just seem closer and more connected to the road and car.
