Default Door Vinyl Repair

What material can be used to repair small holes on the upper corner of the vinyl door? What black paint/dye would you recommend?

70' Convert. w/black leather - delux interior.

Thanks for your input!

The Shoe Goo is for big holes & the Permatex Vinyl repair kit is for smaller holes. If you take your time you will get a good result.

A "close" paint match for your car would be SEM Landau Black, some automotive paint supply houses have it or you can get it here.

Thanks for taking time to help me out Ed T. I do appreciate it!

If you want to do it right then use Leatherique Leather and Vinyl Crack Filler. I think 2oz. is about $8 and is enough to cover the whole door panel.

http://www.leatherique.com

Here are some pics of my dash repair:

Small holes can just be filled. Larger cracks need to be mechanically fastened by gluing a backing such as plastic behind the crack before filling. I also use the leatherique dye. I airbrush it on but it can also be applied with a brush.

Good luck with your repairs.

I just finished repairing and re-dying my 78 door panels. I used the SEM Landaua Black and it came out awesome. I would also recommend the other components of the SEM system, Vinyl Prep, etc.

I had doubts about doing such a large area from a can, but the results are impressive and I was able to dye my door panel carpet with the stuff as well with very good results.
