Another Crane XR-i Conv. Question
I decided to pick up the XR-i points conversion ignition today a Summit Racing. When I opened up the package the literature reads " designed to replace breaker points on small block Chevrolet engines.......All other literature reads All V-8 Engines with single point distributors. Did I miss something? Has anyone had a problem with this unit on BB's or should I just return it and rebuild the points?

have the XR-i on the wifes 1973 SB; works operfectly. I don't understand why it shouldn't work on BB Chevy's

I just put one on my 68 BB. I ran it just enought to re set the timing and it ran fine. I had no install problems. As far as I know, the distributers are interchangable (timing curves may differ).

I didn't think so, Thanks for the info. I really want to ditch my points. If I didn't I was going to have to buy a dwell meter and all the other bs. The XR-i seemed the logical choice plus I like the rev limiter feature.
