o.k. now i've done it. i don't have my datsun car ready for the track yet but i still want to do some driving events this year, so i'm back to driving the '81. well, i bought some nice corbeau seats i intend to mount in the Z. since i got a smoking deal on them, i didn't care that they were red. besides, i can paint the Z whatever color i want.
well, i did it. i mounted one of those corbeaus in the vette. now i have a brightRED seat (with matching harness, mind you) in with my BLUE interior!
i am rice.
RAT, i didn't even think about it that way! DAMN! i'm patriotic!!!
gkull, that's what this car is about. extensive modification. and if i wad it up, so what?
jughead, actually i've had it for close to two years but due to being money poor and busy rich, i haven't done much with it. i hope to make that change very soon.
and just as a teaser, the ultimate plan is a full race car with some 17" rubber, massively improved brakes, really stiff suspension, full roll cage, of course some corbeau seats , and what i'm looking for is a 4.3 TBI v6 and T-5 tranny. i'm thinking about 350hp in a 2000# car should be quite fun!
Bob Sharp and Paul Newman used to run "Z" cars in the early 1980 time frame. Maybe they have some information on what they did back then. The cars were wider just like the Vettes with big front and rear body panels. I was in the same class as them in my old 1976 Monza 262 ci v-8 spyder racing at Willow Springs. They had considerable funding behind them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
