not trying to hijack your thread but i was about to post the same question and didnt want two of the same thread. the only question that i would like to add is i am looking to run 10mm+ wires and was wanting to know if anyone knows of hold downs/wire looms that work for wires this large. i want to run them next to the valve covers not under the headers. TIA

I went with "over the valve cover MSD 8.5 wires" and they are really nice.....I used Moroso wire looms and MSD seperators..... now I saw at the speed shop a complete set of Moroso spark plug wires and looms and distributor cap that is really nice looking. Just remember that where you have the number 1 sparkplug wire on the distributor will determine if the custom sets fit well or not....i had to have one shorter wire made to make mine fit right...not a problem but something to consider and as you can see that for the number 8 plug wire i almost need to get a shorter one for there also...

heres the Moroso link

I have had good luck with Blue Max too. Summit list 3 universal sets as MOR-73800, 1, and 2. With 90 deg, straight, and 135 deg boots respectively.

Hi guys. I know that this isn't that important but do these wires minimize radio interference or is it just a fact of Corvette life? I'm not planning to use any stock sheilding either. Thanks JD

i use the Moroso Blue Max wires and love them. anybody have any experience with some of the real low resistance wires. Moroso makes some "racing" wire with about 40 ohms/ft i think. MSD does too. are these worth it for street use or are you buying problems with radio interference if you go to them? are the performance gains noticeable.

to reduce the radio interferance, ground the radio in two spots with a larger gauge wire than the hot wire...... it'll help

I put in a set, might have been blue max, where one end is factory crimped and the other you do yourself. Use your ohm meter and check the wires befor starting. I had to redo one of the factor ends, they had broke the spiral wire when they crimped it.

The spiral wound wires are pretty good with the radio, I like them.

I'll probably be doing my custom MSD wires and Made For You looms this weekend. I'll try and post some pics. Wish my Crane XR-i would have come in this week though.
