The emergency brake on my 80 does not work and I must repair it. Tried tightening the cable but still no brake. What do I need to do to repair these drum brakes on the inside of my discs ? Thanx Brent
E-brake no workie? Welcome to the club. It's a Mickey Mouse setup. Slap a cup holder on the e brake handle so a valet won't yank on it, and forget about it.

If you really want the ebrake to work though, I'm pretty sure either Eckler's or Mid America have an ebrake rebuild kit that had everything you'd need. If I were at home I'd look it up in the catalogs for you.
It's not that tough a job. Despite what others have said.
Look on Ebay for a deal on a stainless steel kit and go for it. Plan on about 8-hours to install it all. While your at it... change the cable, pulley, springs, retainers, and internal parts.
I would like to forget about it however it must be operational for a safety inspection so it can be registered for insurance purposes. So do you think the problems will be in the brake shoes / cables or both ? Brent
