Default 81 intake on a 76

Is there any problem in using an aluminum intake from a 81 on a 76? (actually a 69 block & heads). Are the mounting holes right for a quadrajet? Is it worth the trouble - performance - weight saving? What is the hole for just under where the carb attaches on the driver side? I assume that it is pluggable as my iron manifold has a hole there that is plugged. Thanks for any assistance.

Personally I would rather get a Weiand or Edelbrock performer, however I think it will fit.

I think it would fit and the 81 used the electronic carb that has the same base plate size. But the early 80's (including 81) was an era of emmissions and gas milage issues. I would not be surprised if the runners are smaller than the available aftermarket intakes. The 81 was only about 190 hp. That manifold didn't have to breath much for that.
