Allright weakend wrenchers, I need some advece on how to remove the front clip on my 72. The hood and bumper are already off. What do I need to do next?
They are bonded on so you need to basically cut it off. Not something done very often. The only time I've heard of this being done is if you are adding a complete aftermarket nose or replacing the front fenders.
I am doing that this weekend.
You should remove the headlight assemblies also.
You also need to disconnect all the wiring and vacuum hoses running up there too.
To get to the inner bonds I removed the vacuum canisters on the driver’s side and the AC unit from the passenger side.
It also looks like I am going to have to remove the doors to get to the outer bonds.
I have 95 pictures of the process so far and will probably have a ton more by Monday.
Here are two threads dealing with it from a couple of months ago.
