This may be a dumb question, but where should I put my floor jack to jack up my car? I see the holes under the rocker panels where the factory jack goes for a tire change. Is that the frame rail? I don't want to put my jack up through the floor. Also, where is a good spot to put my jack stands once the car is up?
I jack the front of my vehicle by placing the jack on the lower control arms. I place the front jack stands on the frame toward the front of rocker panel. I jack up the rear by placing the jack under the middle of the leaf spring. I place my jackstands for the rear on the frame toward the back end of the rocker panel. I wont have to worry about jacks and jackstands for a while because Im having a 32'x38' garage built with a two post lift. Garage will be complete late spring.

Nope, not a dumb question at all. I personally would never jack the car from either frame rail because of frame flex. For the front I jack up under the wide crossmember. I put a piece of 2x10 lumber between the jack head and crossmember to prevent damage. Then place the jackstands on both side of the frame rail.
For the rear I jack from under the differential carrier, again using a block of wood to prevent damage. Then place jackstands onder each frame rail.
