So what happened ? Maybe we can help you diagnose it. Don't run the motor until you get it fugured out. Sometimes it can be dissapointing especially problems with a new motor but it is usually some simple thing overlooked

I ran the engine to dial in the timing and set the idle..i got it to idle around 800rpms..doesn't seem to want to go any lower than that. After running for 10minutes, i find my temp guage is out of commission, so i got to get a new temp guage then water starts pouring out of the overflow hose. I immediately shut it off. I figure my little fan clutch on my 5 blade fan isn't enough? plus my shroud isn't covering the whole area on the radiator. I think i'm going to order some electric fans tomorrow and get it over with. BTW, i got my timing to 36 degrees total advance.

Motorhead, how do you like your Flexalite 210s? I got a Griffin 31x19 radiator, and think the 210s would be ideal for my application.

I like the dual Flexalites no problem with cooling whatsoever, I have the Griffin alumimun rad too. I never goes above 185deg, I like to run my motors cool. I have not let it sit and idle for more than about 5 min on a hot day so I am not sure it will hold the temp there or not

Is it a new radiator cap? Try a new 15-16 psi cap. Much cheaper fix if somehow using a bad cap.
Or could be losing sys press somewhere else. cardo0

i'm thinking the air is purging and forcing out water...you wouldn't see the air except for the water being pushed out first. Of course this would only happen for a couple of times before the air is gone...

Default Starting fluid

I've been told that under the right circumstances, starting fluid can blow the heads off your engine. If it has a firing problem, and the fluid vapors build in the engine, and then ignite...you hear a loud BOOM! I have seen the result on desil engines, but never on a gas, though I have heard that it can happen.

You might also have a air lock or something like that, too much air gets in the system when you fill it by the rad only. I always fill the block first thru the thernostat housing then fill the rad

good possiblity..i'm going to drain all the water out, and start all over when i get the new fans. Then i'll pour water into the block first, fill the radiator, and go from there.
