Default Center console mod

I am going to put in a new clutch and i think i am going to take the console apart for access. I also want to remove the parking brake and everything associated but i was wondering if there was any way i could cover the parking brake lever hole and have it look stock. Would i be able to get some of that material anywhere?? Any ideas?

You can make your own parking brake lever hole cover out of 1/16" styrene. My original corrugated piece broke within a year and when I saw the way it was made, it was amazing it lasted that long. My "replacement" has been in the car over 30 years and is doing just fine. I also built a center console storage box and installed it on top of the center console. It gives me a place to store some change, sunglasses and a few other odds and ends and offers some support for my right elbow. I used 1/2" plywood and foam and did the complete upholstery job myself. The plastic "original" stuff wasn't for me. I do know guys like original but to each his own. Upholstering a 1969 Corvette is a lot of work and I'm getting ready to do it again. Twenty something years is long enough. It still looks pretty good for a daily driver but the newer materials have the older materials beat by a mile. You can see my other post entitled "Just Added Side Mirrors...." for a picture of the center console. Just one man's opinion.......
