for you vette aficianados, i found these numbers on my diff and trannie, can anyone tell me what i have here... diff: ABW29E2....trannie: 3978764....3925660....P18278.....3088336

Take a look again at the transmision numbers. The 8s are probably Bs which would give you P1B27B which would translate to P=Muncie 1= 71 model B27= build date of Feb27 and B=M21. Also if the transmission is original it will have your VIN stamped on it also.

W = Warren plant
The last 3 digits are supposed to be the day of the year followed by the shift which is either, 1, D or N, so "E2" does not compute!
