no, the angle of the U joints is too much. Although I have done this by supporting the rear under the trailing arms with jack stands to compress the sping and reduce the angle. Still can be dangerous for both you and car...carefull.
It sounds like the right rear wheel bearing but it could be a diff. bearing.
My wheels lean in a bit too.
Check if the U-joint bolts hit the differential - that's what mine did when I bought the car ... the rear tires were leaning in because of worn bushings (all bushings) ...
Redbad79... just saw your before and after pics. Wow....you sure brought your vette a long way. Nice work!!! Sounds from your description that your side yokes may have been worn...causing the wheel alignment and U-bolt clearance issue.

Everything was worn, especially the strut rod bushings... and the trailing arms bushings... that was bad enough to allow the wheels to lean inwards at the top - this pushed the half shafts inwards and the U-joint bolts hit the the 'pumpkin'
