Default Windshield frame corner replacement

I am in the process of removing the windshied frame corner. It appears that the piece was secured with adhesive and rivets. The replacement part I ordered states that welding is required. Can I install new part as the original or weld? Also, should I secure the frame in case it moves after the corner is removed.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

I could be wrong but I don't think the original corner was fastened with adhesive and rivets since the frame is a structural component. More likely the corner was rusted and Bubba glued a new one on.

If the body is on the frame I don't think the windshield frame is going to move when you remove the corner. If the frame was under tension you would probably have a broken windshield.

Rick,
I would tend to agree with you, except both corners are constructed the same way.
Do you think welding is the only correct method of attachment/

There are no rivits or adhesive holding the windsheild together (or at least there's not suppose to be).

The windshield frame pieces were spot welded from the factory.

Yes, welding it is the only correct way.
The only safe way, IMO. Have someone weld it.

I'm about to do the same. Both sides are welded on mine.

Here is my problem child.
