Received my Dealer Invoice today and mine was sold to Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring, Md.(shipped 9/14/78). I had traced it back to the second owner in Baltimore, so this helps some. Along the way mine lost the glass tops and gained a set of GM aluminum wheels. Has anyone ever tried to get any info from the dealer after getting the dealer invoice? I sent the email to Peggy about a week before Christmas.
I sent my request on 12/27; Peggy just notified me I would receive it in one or two weeks, as soon as the librarian processes it. I have the original owner's manual, which has the (local) buyer's name penned in. I'm the third owner, and the second one was local, as well.
This spring, I was thinking about driving the car over to the original owner's house and surprise him. Hopefully, he won't be sharing any stories about "bumping uglies" in the back...

I took an 85 Monte Carlo SS back to show the guy I bought it from after I did a ground up, when he saw it he went in the house and had a big arguement with his wife. Told her "Look what it could have looked like if you didnt make me sell it" I just drove away!
