Just wanted to know
If you do a WTB post
and some one offers you the item
is it fair for other forum members
to post after the first,
with the same item for less
or sometimes even free
If it were me...I would buy it from the first person who replied...just like selling something....but that's just the way I do things. A few dollars here and there doesn't add up to much, in the long run, but honesty and character do.
hmm? how bout this senario...someone offers you a part "from here" for $60 used. You don't commit but tell em it can be bought new for that and then buy one for $20 from another member? Any problem with this?
If someone responded with a price and then another person responded that they will give it to you for free...I would go with the free offer no questions asked.
Furthermore, if someone responded and then another responded with a much lower offer...again why not. Just because someone responded first to your inquiry does not make you obligated. What if the first response is not a reasonable sell price and the second offer is. You should not be obligated simply because someone responded first.
Now if the prices were similar, yes I would go with the first response. Just my .02 worth.
In this case, if YOU are the one that posted WTB, then it is your thread, and other people are just making offers to you. You are the consumer, and you get to choose.
If you are SELLING something for $60, and someone posted the same thing on YOUR thread for $50, then I would say that was in bad taste.
